The purpose of a music video is essentially made to showcase a music artist(s) of their talents held within the music industry. A music video functions in a way to promote the artist reaching out to their targetted audience through their choice of elements i.e. clothing, narrative, setting and genre of music. By promoting the artist, marketing devices are used to help boost the sales of their music.
What music video does this well?
The music video below is by the 'eccentric' and famously known for whacky music videos, music artist Lady Gaga who has used the benefits of a music video as much as she can in order to promote herself and her image. From watching the video, the costume and setting is very detailed and in contrast to her other videos generally share the similar qualities of her representation whilst being overall 'out of the ordinary'.
