During the AS year I was able to pick up various technical skills which will help me a lot through the A2 course.
In filmmaking there were various angles learned before we set off to film our thriller.
- close up
- medium close up
- long shot
- extreme long shot
- tracking shot
- panning shot
And also a lot more. By learning these shots, it will prove beneficial in helping us create our music videos this year, which will no doubt leave us with a better quality product.
In editing, throughout the whole of the AS year, we were picking up more and more techniques throughout. A lot of these will be used in order to edit our music video this year.
- cutting
- marking
- using a base track
- overlapping
- adding in affects (fades, cross dissolves etc)
What will prove particularly beneficial this year is the way I developed my 'marking' skills at the end of the AS year, when we created a very small music video and edited it. Being able to do this has set me in good stead for this year, and leaves me confident in being able to edit our music video to a good quality.
There were lots of important sound skills developed last year, with the most important being - make sure your singer is singing loud enough whilst recording the video, as it makes the video a lot easier to edit, due to being able to match both sets of lyrics together.
