Research: Skills Audit

During my AS practical work, there were three main problems with the research.
1) We didn't plan the location properly, and the place we used wasn't as big as what we needed. We also only used one place to film, instead of two/three.
2) We finished our first day filming and went in to start editing the next day. What we didn't realise was that the house was way too dark, which in turn made the scenes we had recorded un-viewable on our screen.

Since then, I have learned from these mistakes. In research for our video this year, we have selected as many as seven locations for filming, and not just the one. We plan to visit the inside locations before we start filming to check the lighting and how strong it is. If the lighting isn't strong enough then we need to use lighting equipment which is stored in the college.

3) We didn't leave enough time to edit thoroughly.

Last year, we started filming extremely late, a long time after other students. It left us with very little time to edit our video, which meant we weren't able to do it to our full abilities. This year, my group have planned times for filming, and extra dates can be added on if needed. These dates are a lot earlier than last year, which gives us the time we need to edit our video, and make it look the best it can possibly be.
